Since the age of six, Melbourne pianist Calvin Leung been playing and perfecting his craft on the piano.
His talent and potential were recognised by his teachers from an early age and was encouraged to learn other instruments including the guitar and vocals. By the age of 18, Calvin had already won numerous music awards, piano competitions and scholarships.
In 2003 and 2004, Calvin was given the opportunity to record four of his original songs. His works featured on two compilation CD's "Check It" and "Suspended" as part of the Australlian Kool Skools Music Project.
Past participants of the Kool Skools Music Project include artists such as Delta Goodrem, Missy Higgins and Dean Geyer.
For his works, Calvin later received a total of three nominations at the national Kool Skools Music Awards for:
Best Original Acoustic Song (2003),
Best instrumentalist on Keys/Piano (2003), and
Best instrumentalist on Keys/Piano (2004).
RESIDENCIES & PERFORMANCES
In addition, Calvin has established himself as a highly-respected and reputable solo pianist for private and corporate functions
He is currently the resident solo pianist at:
the RACV City Club (members dining area), Melbourne
Montsalvat, Eltham and
Stones of the Yarra Valley, Coldstream
Calvin has also previously been the resident pianist at The Windsor Hotel.
He has also performed at hundreds of weddings and events across Victoria. Calvin is supported by music agencies, such as Full Dress Productions and Upfront Entertainment, who also back big names, such as Vanessa Amorossi, Anthony Callea, Mark Seymor and Kate Cebrano.
